Human Innovation
Inherited and historical systems, including education, work and career, trust and identity, and governance systems, are breakdown down. The specific structures that humans have depended upon for generations are still necessary for us to take care of our concerns but new approaches are emerging that are ‘fit for purpose’. This is a period of experimentation, iteration, uncertainty, and regeneration. This is the spirit and practical reality of The Great Transition.
A new approach to living, working, and leading is required. Yes, a more self-centered approach is needed as is increased collaboration with others in new and novel ways. Critical capabilities, many that have been lost to history, including increased agency, self-authorship, autonomy, ambition, creativity and a general boldness is necessary to transit this period.
The Human Innovation Institute has created, is pioneering and will continue to advance the new and novel disciple of Human Innovation. These are the mindsets, practices, and tools that allow for greater adaptability, more creative designs, bolder and more decisive leadership. At the core, Human Innovation is a cross-disciplinary approach to navigating and leading through transitional, uncertain environments.
This publication has been created to introduce the concepts that support Human Innovation. We’ll explore the environment where the areas of The Great Transition are exerting extraordinary pressures, how it applies to individuals, teams, and organizations, and the key mindsets, practices, and tools that the discipline of Human Innovation rests upon.
